Biography
Juno-Award-winner Sandra Beech has been an entertainer all her life. As a child, she performed for Adult audiences, but she has dedicated her adult life to performing for children. She has performed in theatres and schools, festivals and fairs all across North America, and on many television shows and telethons. Sandra has recorded seven albums and two videos to date.
This dynamic performer’s clear, warm signature style of singing delivers a positive self-esteem message to young audiences, enchantingly conveyed by toe-tapping, lilting music and a real animate character named Chickery Chick.
Sandra Millar Beech was born and raised in Ballymena, N. Ireland, where she began her career as a child performer with her two brothers, Will and George. Her brothers, along with their cousin, Joe Millar, would go on to become the internationally-known folk-pop group, The Irish Rovers.
Sandra moved to Canada with her family in 1953. She and her brothers entertained as The Musical Millars, until she married Len Beech in 1964. When their first daughter started at Mr. Dressup’s nursery school, Sandra gave up singing for adults and started her career as a children’s entertainer.
Sandra is the mother of three daughters and has eleven grand-children.
